French triathlete Vidal dies aged 31
11 November 2015, Nirapad News: French triathlete Laurent Vidal has died at the age of 31 after suffering a heart attack at his home near Montpellier.
Vidal, who was fifth at the London Olympics in 2012, had retired from the sport last year after suffering a cardiopulmonary arrest during a swimming training session.
French president Francois Hollande paid tribute to Vidal on his Twitter account, saying: “Laurent Vidal was a great champion. I offer all my condolences to his family and to French sport.”
Vidal was a three-time French national champion in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
