Government assures security to diplomats
6 October 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh government assured of its foreign diplomats saying that there is no reason to be worried about their security.
They also presented the progress of investigation over the murders of two foreigners and the security measures taken by the administration.
The briefing was arranged at Padma Sate Guesthouse in city on Tuesday afternoon.
Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam talked to the diplomats at the event.
They said that progress has been made in investigation over the murder cases of Italian citizen Cesare Tavella and Japan national Kunio Hoshi.
Moreover, the current situation of security in the country is normal and several measures have been taken to strengthen the security.
There is no reason to be anxious, they added.
Diplomats, including the US ambassador Marcia Bloom Bernicat, attended the briefing.
Sources said that the diplomats expressed their concern over the recent killing of two foreigners. Some of the countries have already announced travel warning for their respective citizens.
PM’s political affairs advisor HT Imam, among others, was also present at the briefing.
