Government employees to get July-August arrears in January
23 December 2015, Nirapad News: Government employees will get their arrears of July and August, accruing from a new pay scale, with their December salaries paid in January.
The arrears for September, October and November will be given with the salaries of January to be paid in February.
A 20 percent dearness allowance that government employees were being paid would be adjusted with the arrear payments, said a finance ministry circular issued on Tuesday.
Cabinet had approved the new pay scale in September this year with a highest basic pay of Tk 78,000 and a minimum of Tk 8,250. It allowed an across-the-grade hike ranging from 91 to 101 percent.
The new pay structure was placed in the official gazette on Tuesday.
The basic pay for officers and other employees will have retroactive effect from July 1 this year, resulting in the arrears. The revised allowances, however, will come into effect from July 1, 2016.
The new structure has dropped the class categories, selection grade, and time scale. The annual increment will be a percentage of the basic pay.
