Govt puts due importance on sports: Arif Khan Joy
21 April 2016, Nirapad News: Deputy Minister for the Youth and Sports Ministry Arif Khan Joy, MP, has said the present pro-people and pro-sport government puts due importance on education as well as sport sectors.
“The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is always sincere for development of sports and gives more allocations for involving women with sports,” he said while visiting Uttam Baniapara area as a proposed site for construction of the Women Sports Complex in the city on Wednesday night.
The Deputy Minister said development of education and sports is must for properly bringing up the young generations and save them from the negatives in the society for building a middle income and subsequently, developed Bangladesh.
“The present movement has allocated Taka 27 crore for establishing a modern Women Sports Complex in Rangpur divisional city,” he said and called upon all concerned for ensuring best use of the amount for the purpose to achieve the goals.
Acting President of district Awami League and Zila Parishad Administrator Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Director of Bangladesh Cricket Board and General Secretary of Rangpur Divisional Sports Association Advocate Anwarul Islam,Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mostain Billah, accompanied the Deputy Minister.
Vice-presidents of Rangpur District Sports Association Manjur Ahmed Azad,Enamul Haque Sohel, Nur Shahin Lal and AKM Shamim Khan Raju, its Additional general Secretary Moazzem Hossain Lablu, Assistant Secretary Samsuzzaman Khan, Treasurer Abdul Mazid Hiru, Female Member Advocate Zakia Sultana Choitee, were present, among others.
The Deputy Minister visited Uttam Baniapara area near the Youth Development Office here as part of ongoing visits to different spots with a view to ultimately finalise the site for construction of the Women Sports Complex in the city.
