Hajj deal signed, 1.01 lakh Bangladeshis to perform hajj
15 February 2016, Nirapad News: Bangladesh has signed an agreement with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) regarding performing of hajj this year.
Under the pact, 101,758 from Bangladesh will facilitate traveling to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj this year. In last year, the same quantity of Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims got approval of Saudi government.
Religious Affairs Minister Motiur Rahman and Saudi Hajj affairs minister Dr. Bandar Bin Mohammed Bin Hamza Hajjar signed the agreement on behalf of respective sides in Jeddah on Sunday (February 14).
Ministry’s public relations officer Anwar Hossian informed the matter.
The hajj will be performed on September 12 (Dhul-hajj 9) (subject to sighting of the Moon).
On January 11, the cabinet gave nod to hajj packages this year. According to Hajj pakage-1, each hajj pilgrim has to pay more than Tk 3.60 lakh while more than Tk 3.04 lakh under Hajj Pakage-2.
