HC rejects MP Badi’s plea to cancel corruption charges
10 November 2015, Nirapad News: The High Court on Tuesday rejected the petition filed by Awami League law maker Abdur Rahman Badi to cancel corruption charges against him.
A HC bench comprising of Justice Md Emdadul Haque and Justice Khurshid Alam Sarker passed the order.
After the order, the lawyer of Anti Corruption Commission Khurshid Alam Khan told the journalists that the date of deposition of this case was earlier scheduled to be held on November 18.
Following the order of Tuesday, there is no bar to proceed the graft case against the MP from Cox’s Bazar.
On August 21, 2014, the Anti Corruption Commission filed the case with Ramna Police Station on charges of possessing Tk 10 crore amassed illegally.
Badi is an influential person in Cox’s Bazar. He is an alleged godfather of drug trafficking.
