What’s better is you can blend one superfood into the mix to give the regular smoothie a super healthy shake!

Consuming smoothies is an easy way to lose weight without compromising on nutrition. They can replace a meal entirely and thus can help cut down unnecessary calories. Packed with fresh fruit and vegetables and many other wonderful foods, smoothies provide energy and are satisfying as well. Unlike fruit juices, they retain the pulp and therefore the fibre content of the fruit. Most people find it easy to replace a fat laden, low nutrition breakfast with a thick smoothie. It’s easy to add a superfood to your smoothie and make it into a supersmoothie!

Thick Tropical Smoothie
¾ cup plain low fat hung curd
l 1/2 cup fresh or frozen mango chunks
1/2 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1 frozen banana, chopped
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed

Superfood: Flaxseeds
Adding flaxseeds to your smoothie is an easy way to ensure you are consuming this superfood regularly. Flaxseeds are a rich source of micronutrients, dietary fibre, manganese, vitamin B1, and the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid or ALA or omega-3. The seeds come from flax, one of the oldest fibre crops in the world.
