High Court rejects Khaleda Zia plea for reinvestigation in Zia Orphanage Trust Case
9 March 2017, Nirapad News: The High Court rejected BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s petition on Thursday, seeking an order for reinvestigation in Zia Orphanage Trust case.
The bench of justice M Enayetur Rahim and justice Shahidul Karim passed the order after a hearing on the petition.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer advocate Khurshid Alam Khan confirmed this to Prothom Alo.
The ACC filed the Zia Orphanage Trust case on 3 July 2008 with Ramna Police Station accusing Khaleda Zia, her eldest son Tarique Rahman, now living in the UK after securing bail, and four others for misappropriating over Tk 21. 0 million (2.10 crore) that came as grants from a foreign bank for orphans.
