19 Septembar 2015, Nirapad News: A district court on Thursday placed Mahmudur Rahman Ovi, alleged regional chief of banned outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir, a five-day remand.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Magistrate passed the order in response to a seven-day remand plea by police.

However, Rajshahi Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) had been keeping surveillance on Ovi for six months.

Earlier on Wednesday, they detained him from Terekhadia area of the metropolitan area and handed over him to police.

Later, PBI inspector Anwar Ali filed a case under ICT Act.
