Hospitals can not accommodate patients: Health Minister

Mentioning that country’s hospitals can not accommodate patients any more, Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Thursday said the government is trying its best to resolve the situation.

“The government has undertaken all kinds of initiative to bring the elderly people under vaccination. Virus infection is falling, and we have to continue the downward trend,” said the minister.

Informing that one crore more Covid vaccine are coming this month, he said so far, nearly 1.75 crore people have taken the first jab of vaccine while 50 lakh received the second dose.

“There is an international politics over vaccine. We’re fortunate about getting the vaccine earlier as we tried to get it from the very beginning,” said Zahid Maleque.

He also informed that 4,000/5,000 technicians will be recruited within a few days which is badly needed and a field hospital is being built.
