Talking about the election procedure, chief election commissioner told UNB that ICAB members can contest individually in the elections as it is a unique distinction of the organisation that there are no divided panels in the election.
“Most of the elections of professional organisations in Bangladesh are held between two or more panels which are formed out of bifurcation of the members of the respective organisations but here in ICAB, we have no panel,” he said.
AC Nath, also the former president of ICAB said the election procedure is very transparent and rules-abiding so that there are no campaigns, posters or influence exercised by the candidates in the election area.
ICAB always arranges its council and regional election at least a month before expiration of the current committee. All the running committees of the organisation will expire on January 1, 2016.
The election result will be notified later by the ICAB Election Commission and ICAB website.
