16 March 2015, Nirapad News: Make-shift captain Shakib al Hasan was all smiles at the post match press-meet after a well-fought battle against tournament favorites New Zealand at Hamilton. He talked about the positives to take out from the match, and the way in which the whole team uplifted their performance at the face of adversity.

Pointing out the fact that the batters and fielders have been really consistent throughout the tournament, he assured that Bangladesh would be ready to face India at Melbourne on 19 March 2015 in what would be their first time playing in the quarter final stage of the World Cup.

Speaking of Mahmudullah’s current form with the bat he said, “Mahmudullah has been consistent for us till
now, and he should be proud of that. But his job is not over, and we hope he scores another century against
India. If Sangakkara can score four centuries back to back, why not Mahmudullah?”
