IGP said to show zero tolerance to terrorists
19 February 2015, Nirapad News: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque on Wednesday said that law enforcers would show zero tolerance to terrorists. He also expected that common people will help the law enforcers during their drives against terrorists.
The IGP was talking to press after his visit to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) headquarters. Regarding the police drives, the IGP said that all the law enforcers will conduct tougher drives against them who are involved in criminal offences in the name of political movement.
On question about BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s arrest, IGP said that, investigation officers are examining the cases against the BNP chief, if they get sufficient proof of the BNP chief’s involvement to crime, then they will arrest her, the IGP added.
To a question on Hizbut Tahirir, the IGP said that the jihadist group is no longer a threat to Bangladesh. The law enforcers are on alert on the matter, he added.
