Indian high commission marks ITEC & ICCR Day
15 October 2015, Nirapad News: The High Commission of India celebrated the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Day at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in city on Wednesday (October 14).
Bangladesh commerce minister Tofail Ahmed attended the occasion as chief guest. India high commissioner Pankaj Saran was also present at the event, says a press release issued by Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre on Thursday.
ITEC and ICCR alumni along with members of the Youth Delegations that have visited India attended the program.
The ITEC Program was instituted on September 15 in 1964 as part of India’s Development Assistance Programme within the framework of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation and South-South cooperative strategy, offering developing countries the benefit of India’s development experience and appropriate technologies.
Bangladesh is one of India’s principal ITEC partners.
Under the ICCR Scholarship Programs, several Bangladeshi students have studied in India at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
