Initiatives taken for collecting more revenue: NBR
4 March 2015, Nirapad News: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has taken some initiatives to expedite the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process for accelerating revenue collections.
The revenue authorities at a meeting on Tuesday with its chairman Nojibur Rahman decided that NBR would organise workshops, seminars and view exchange meetings to create awareness about the benefit of the ADR among the tax payers.
There would be a consultative meeting of NBR at the end of this month where representatives from different chambers and trade bodies will participate.
A campaign would also be carried out to encourage tax payers to solve their tax related dispute through ADR, which offers resolving tax disputes at a faster appeal process than the usual ones.
According to NBR, there are large number of tax related disputes involving Taka 28 thousand crore, of which a large amount could be realized through ADR.
