14 May 2015, Nirapad News: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, today called upon BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to see the reality with un blinkered eyes.
He said “You will see the country is progressing rapidly, democracy is being consolidated and the country is becoming free of terrorism.”
The minister was responding to a criticism made by Khaleda Zia, yesterday, that the country was being destroyed.
“On the contrary”, he added “the country was in crisis when you had made ministers of war criminals. Now it is payback time. The war criminals are facing justice”.
“It’s not the country but your communal world that is shrinking,” Inu said.
The minister was speaking at Hotel Sonargaon at a function organized to celebrate the first founding anniversary of the online Bengali daily “Bangla Tribune”.
Among others, newly elected mayor of Dhaka North Anisul Huq, publisher of the daily Kazi Anis Ahmed, editor of Dhaka Tribune Zafar Sobhan and journalists of the online daily were present.
Earlier at a function organized by the SAARC Cine journalists’ Association at the city’s Shilpakala Academy, the minister said that film journalists pass on the values, virtues and dreams of one country to another and cine journalists convey the same through their medium.
He said that the country had a glorious cinematic history but then the country still awaited an epic on the Great Liberation War of 1971.
Promod Mankin, state minister for social welfare, Film Actor Elias Kanchan and the president of the association also spoke on the occasion.
