Iqbal stresses for job-oriented education system

11 May 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury today emphasized for the transformation of the country’s existing education system and education materials towards employment oriented.

“There is no alternative of technical, vocational and training based education system. We have to utilize the technical, vocational and training based education system to cope with the globalization,” he said while addressing a seminar as the chief guest.

Institute of Diploma Engineers of Bangladesh (IDEB) and Colombo Plan Staff College jointly organized the seminar titled “Social and Professional Integration of TVET” in city’s IDEB.

The Prime Minister’s Media Adviser said: “The world is changing in the field of technical and vocational education, so we have to update with it and the change is a time befitting demand.”

Former Vice Chancellor of Presidency University Professor Harun-Ur-Rashid made a keynote presentation on the topic.

IDEB President M A Hamid gave welcome address while ILO’s TVET adviser Francis De Costa spoke on the occasion as special guest. Chief Executive of National Skill Development Council A B M Khurshed Alam chaired the seminar.
