Jatiya Party (JP-Manju) to take part in local bodies’ polls
15 November 2015, Nirapad News: Jatiya Party (JP-Manju) will take part in the ensuing polls to the local bodies.
A unanimous decision in this regard was adopted at the extended meeting of the central executive committee of JP held at a hotel in Dhanmondi area in the city today with its chairman and Minister for Environment and Forests Anwar Hossain Manju in the chair.
At the meeting, JP leaders held the opinion that all sorts of services from the centre could not be reached to the people at the grassroots level without a strong local government body. The party called upon the people to give their mandate in favour of those candidates in the local bodies’ polls who are honest, dedicated and would work for people’s welfare.
In an another resolution of the meeting, JP expressed its firm view in favour of continuation of the constitutional process in the country and urged the government to face with iron hands any attempt to create anarchy unleashing terrorism. The party also called upon the government to ensure fair prices of agriculture products.
Leaders of JP from 62 district units across the country participated in the meeting.
JP secretary general Sheikh Shahidul Islam, presidium members Shah Rafiqul Bari Chowdhury, AH Salah Uddin Mahmud, Col (Retd) Abdul Latif Mallick, Mofizul Haq Bebu, Ezaj Ahmed Mukta, ATM Aminul Islam Pintu and additional secretary general Sadek Siddiqui addressed the meeting, among others.
