Jhantu for turning Rangpur into eco-friendly, clean city
14 December 2015, Nirapad News: Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu today put maximum emphasis on turning Rangpur into an eco-friendly, better habitable, modern, beautiful and clean city.
Jhantu, a valiant freedom fighter, sought cooperation of city dwellers, City Councilors, its officials and employees and development partners in conducting the administrative, service delivery and development activities of the City Corporation smoothly.
The City Mayor said this while presiding over a meeting of the City Development Coordination Committee (CDCC) at City Bhaban auditorium. The meeting was arranged under the City Governance Project of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).

City Panel Mayor Golam Kabir Kajol, City Councilor Shahjalal Karim Bakul, Assistant Commissioner from the Divisional Commissioner’s Office Magfurul Hassan Abbasi, Assistant Professor of Rangpur Medical College Dr AM Rawshan Alam, and Executive Engineer of RCC Azam Ali addressed, among others.
City Councilors from all 33 general wards and 11 Female Councilors from 11 reserved wards, RCC officials participated in the meeting.
The City Mayor said construction works of the offices, institutions, recreation places, sewerage system, water and electricity supply, roads, culverts and everything are being conducted in a long-term and well-planned manner.
He directed all concerned to complete the infrastructural development works timely maintaining the best quality with maximum transparency to turn Rangpur into one of the most modern and beautiful cities in the country.
The Mayor asked all concerned for working together in building an eco- friendly, well planned and traffic-jam free Rangpur city.
