Journo Saiful’s janaza held at Jatiya Press Club
16 March 2015, Nirapad News: The third janaza of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Joint Secretary General Saiful Islam Talukdar was held at the Jatiya Press Club today.
Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina placed wreaths on the coffin of Talukdar.
On behalf of Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, his private secretary Shahidul Hoque Bhuiyan placed wreaths on the coffin.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kamal Azad, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Secretary General Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, Treasurer Khairuzzaman Kamal, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) President Altaf Mahmud and General Secretary Quddus Afrad, Jatiya Press Club Vice-President Kazi Rawnak Hossain and General Secretary Syed Abdal Ahmed and former Chief Editor and Managing Director of BSS Azizul Islam Bhuiyan attended the janaza.
Earlier, the body was taken to the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) where second Namaz-e-Janaza was held. Talukdar’s body was taken to Chhoto Sundar village in Chandpur where he will be buried at his family graveyard.
Saiful Islam Talukder, also special correspondent of the Daily Amader Samay died of a cardiac arrest at a city hospital last night. He was 56. He was a former vice-president of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).
