JS body on Foreign Affairs meets
08 December 2015, Nirapad News: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Ministry today held its 8th meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Committee members Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, State Minister for Florien Affairs M Shahriar Alam, Muhammad Faruk Khan, Golam Faruk Khandkar Prince, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, M Sohrab Uddin, Selim Uddin and Begum Mahjabin Khaled took part in the meeting with the committee chairman Dr Dipu Moni in the chair.
Reports on the recent visits of the committee members to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Brunei and Malaysia were presented before the meeting.
The committee recommended introduction of press wings at the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Brunei and Malaysia.
It suggested to remain alert so that the Rohingas cannot get Bangladeshi passports, increase the number of pages in passports, establish permanent consulates and buildings in Malaysia and Dubai on own lands and take measures to get back the bodies of immigrants after deaths at government cost.
It also recommended for raising validity of machine readable passport (MRP) to 10 years instead of existing 5 years.
High officials of foreign ministry and JS secretariat were present on the occasion.
