12 March 2015, Nirapad News: Joint General Secretary of the ruling Awami League Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said that BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has snatched away people’s right for survival by killing them hurling petrol bombs on the plea of restoring their rights of franchise.

He asked Begum Zia as to why she had torched polling centres and killed nearly 150 persons, who were going to polling centers to cast their votes, before the January 5 national polls of 2014 if she advocates for people’s franchise.

Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said this while speaking at a public rally at Chitra Morh (Crossing) following a road march in the district town brought out by the Awami League-led 14-party alliance protesting the BNP-Jamaat combine’s terrorism, anarchy, subversive acts and killing people by torching in the name of movement.

The Awami League (AL) leader alleged that as an agent of Pakistan, Begum Zia has been conspiring to assassinate the surviving family members of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman so that Bangladesh could not march ahead towards progress and prosperity.

As part of the conspiracy, he said BNP activists tried to kidnap Bangabandhu’s grandson Sajib Wazed Joy and it was proved following punishment handed down to some BNP conspirators (activists) in the United States.

District 14-party alliance coordinator and Jessore District AL general secretary Shaheen Chakladar presided over the rally, also addressed, among others, by AL organising secretary BM Mozammel Huq, MP, Jessore District AL president Shahidul Islam Milon, JSD vice-president Rabiul Alam, NAP general secretary Advocate Enamul Huq, Workers Party politburo member Iqbal Kabir Zahid, JP (Manju) vice-chairman Sharif Shafiqul Hamid Chandan, BSD leader Mahbubur Rahman and Samyabadi Dal leader Advocate Biren Saha.
