Krishak Dal leader hacked to death on way back after poll campaign
23 December 2015, Nirapad News: A local Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal leader was chopped to death by miscreants in Adarshagram area of Matiranga upazila under Khagrachhari on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 52, vice-president of the upazila unit of Krishak Dal, the farmer wing of BNP, according to a news agency. Sources at Matiranga Health Complex said Nazrul came under the attack by a group of miscreants in the area around 8:30pm on his way home after electioneering in favour of a BNP candidate in the municipal election. The attackers hacked him with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him injured critically. Nazrul was taken to the health complex where doctors declared him dead. Local BNP leaders blamed Awami League men for the murder.
