Law enforcers to provide protection to SSC examinees
31 January 2015, Nirapad News: Inspector General Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said today they will provide the examinees with all necessary securities on their way to examination centres and also at the centres during the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations beginning on February 2.
He sought cooperation from the public and politicians so that the students can take part in the examinations safely. Requesting the BNP alliance to stop anarchy in the name of movement, Shahidul said, “Secret petrol bombs attacks are being carried out in the name of hartal and blockade.” “Otherwise, police will show zero tolerance against such anarchy and subversive acts and all of them involved in the heinous acts will be brought to book”.
Replying to a query about the arrest of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, he said, “They will take decision in this regard after thorough investigation. “If the government wants to take examinations, members of all the law enforcement agencies like BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh), Ansar, and elite force will be deployed. We will take steps as per the government decisions”.
Calling upon the BNP alliance to withdraw the Hartal and blockade during the SSC examinations, the police chief also said, “Being a father and a common citizen of the country, I also request the BNP alliance to withdraw the programs for the sake of future of the 15 lakh students,” adding that if not, keep the SSC examinees out of the purview of Hartal and blockade.
