Lawmakers criticized BNP for terrorism, violence against people
03 March 2015,Nirapad News: Lawmakers from treasury and opposition bench today heavily criticized BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and her cadres for terrorism and violence against the peaceful common people as well the SSC examinees of the country in the name of hartal and blockade.
They said Khaleda Zia burnt alive and killed innocent people including women and children across the country through petrol bomb and arson attacks on motor vehicles to disrupt the process of development initiated by the Awami League government under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The lawmakers made the remarks in the Jatiya Sangsad while taking part in the general discussion on thanksgiving motion of President’s address in the House on January 19.
Taking part in the discussion Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading the country towards development and progress in line with the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Referring to BNP-Jamaat anti-government movement, he said the BNP called the blockade and hartal only to push the country backward and deter the ongoing development work of the present government, which earned appreciations from different international quarters.
Menon said the common people have become the worst victims of the brutal petrol bomb and arson attacks unleashed by the BNP-Jamaat clique in the name of blockade.
Giving a short picture of the development activities of the government, the minister said new modern aircraft has been added in the state run Biman Bangladesh Airlines fleet and more aircraft would also join the national flag carrier.
Speaking on the occasion, Fisheries and Livestock Minister M Sayeedul Haque said BNP created a reign of anarchy in the country by burning and killing innocent people as well the children across the country.
He said the country is advancing in a faster pace to its desired development goal under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.
Sayeedul lauded the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who took various pragmatic steps to achieve outstanding development in various sectors despite frequent acts of anarchy and unrest by the BNP and its allies.
Taking part on the thanksgiving motion, Jatiya Party member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu stressed on bringing all patrons of petrol bomb and arson attacks to book within the shortest possible time.
He said students are growing up with negative sentiment about politics, because students are failing to attend their examinations due to political movement. “We started the practice of democracy during President Hussein Muhammad Ershad’s regime,” Ziauddin Ahmed said.
He said the law enforcement agencies would carry out their duties in all possible ways to bring the current situation under control.
Among others, treasury bench members Afsarul Amin, Motahar Hossain, Narayan Chandra Chanda, Habibur Rahman Mollah, M Yeasin Ali, opposition bench members Ziauddin Ahmed, Shariful Islam Zinnah and independent lawmaker M Mohibullah, took part in the discussion.
