Legal process underway to ban Jamaat

25 November 2015, Nirapad News: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal again ruled out the existence of Islamic State (IS) in the country.

Terming Jamaat-e-Islami the origin of militancy, the minister said Jamaat is mother organization of militancy in the country.

The legal process is underway to ban the politics of Jamaat-e-Islami. So, I’m not willing to say anymore in this regard, he added.

Asaduzzaman said this while talking to reporters at his secretariat office on Tuesday.

‘I want to say firmly that there is no IS organizationally in Bangladesh, he reiterated, adding that terrorist groups in the country are conducting the wrongdoings changing their identities.

Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir is the root of all terrorism in the country, he further said.

Masterminds of attack on Tajia procession, who claimed themselves IS, have been identified, said the Home Minister.

He also said law and order situation is now under control of the government.
