Mamata supports Sonia in National Herald case
21 December 2015, Nirapad News: At least, a 100 Congress MPs, four Congress chief ministers, nearly all PCC Presidents will show their solidarity with the Gandhis by marching to the lower court from 10 Janpath. Nothing demonstrated the extra interest that the authorities have taken in the National Herald case more clearly than the transfer of an Enforcement Directorate official who had dismissed the charges against the Congress leaders.
That single act had invested her with an enviable moral authority and raised her personal and political stock, status and standing dramatically. The Congress high command seems to have changed its strategy pertaining to National Herald case. Secondly, Congress-led UPA 2 was in power when Swamy had filed the complaint. It is a provocative tactic which seemingly suits Rahul Gandhi’s post-sabbatical belligerence which is increasingly resembling his late uncle Sanjay Gandhi’s confrontational brand of politics. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the National Herald case row, saying “political vendetta” against his party was coming out of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). And effectively, Swamy is claiming that Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, along with a few other Congress leaders who also own parts of Young India, were cheating Congress supporters and other shareholders of Associated Journals out of money they were owed.
