Manna’s mask unveiled: Hanif

25 February 2015, Nirapad News: Joint general secretary of the ruling Awami League Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said here today that the mask of Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna had been unveiled.

“Wearing the musk of a gentleman under the cover of Nagorik Oikya and civil society, Mahmudur Rahman Manna has so far been involved in conspiracy and it has also been proved that he has been fanning the fire behind BNP’s bid to kill people by torching in the name of movement,” he said.

The Awami League joint general secretary said it has also been proved that as a member of the civil society Mahmudur Rahman Manna fanned the fire for dialogue in prolonging BNP-Jamaat combine’s siege-hartal program and cover-up their misdeeds.

Talking to local journalists at his residence in the town, Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said, “Manna (Mahmudur Rahman) has been arrested in connection with a case for his involvement in the conspiracy to topple the government through unconstitutional means. Legal action will be taken against him in connection with the case.”

Turning to the warrant of arrest issued by the court against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the AL leader said, “On the basis of real allegation brought by the caretaker government, a graft case was filed against Begum Khaleda Zia in the year 2007. Warrant of arrest has been issued against Kheleda Zia today in connection with the Zia Charitable Trust Case.”

“Begum Zia herself knows that she is an offender (accused). She has changed the date of court appearance for 47 times sensing that there is every possibility of her punishment on the basis of documentary evidences of corruption brought against her in the case,” Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif added.

Kushtia District Awami League (AL) president Sadar Uddin Khan, vice-president Haji Rabiul Islam, general secretary Asgar Ali and City AL president Taijal Ali Khan were present, among others.
