Mass-people enjoying e-service benefits: Speakers

04 May 2016, Nirapad News: Discussants at a press-briefing in Rajshahi mentioned that the public in general are now enjoying benefits of e-services with breakthrough of building Digital Bangladesh.

The ongoing digitization process has also created scope of employment and income generation in various ways including outsourcing, selling products through e-shop and offering different services in various service centres including the Union Digital Centres.

District Administration and District Information Office jointly organized the e-service related press conference at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner in association with Access to Information (A2I) Project of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Tuesday afternoon. UNDP and USAID supported the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner Kazi Ashraf Uddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education Development and ICT) Parvej Raihan, social worker Shahin Akhter Rainy, former chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Shirin Sufiya Khanom,District Fisheries Officer Golam Rabbani and Deputy Director of District Information Office Md Shamsuzzaman spoke on the occasion.

The speakers said that the government officers have progressed a lot in the field of information technology and added that the Prime Minister inaugurates different projects through video conference in her absence from the functions.

“Gross income and growth rates are increasing and all these are done for keeping people’s life easy and happy. As a country we are in a better position,” said DC Kazi Ashraf Uddin. He viewed that a new society emerges from creativity and innovation with expansion of information and communication technologies. “A society is unfolded through innovation and it should be built up through creativity”, Kazi Ashraf said adding that the innovations, which are underway in Bangladesh, should be nurtured.

Skill development of all the officials concerned has become an urgent need for ensuring e-services at peoples’ doorstep for a proper reflection of their hopes and aspiration.

The present government has adopted multifarious measures for reaching the e-services to the grassroots people. All the officials of the field administration should discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty so that the people can derive total benefits of the modern services.
