Massive government steps lauded for women development
17 March 2016, Nirapad News: The massive steps taken by present government for development of the women have been lauded in ensuring safe maternity, maternal and neonatal health services, sanitation facilities and eradicating social curses.
Government officials disclosed the information at a women rally organised by the District Information Office at Ajoddhapur Government Primary School premises under Sadar upazila in the district on Wednesday afternoon.
The rally was arranged with a view to inform the women community as well as common people on the successes achieved by the present government during the past seven years and its future development plans.
Sadar Upazila Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby attended the rally as the chief guest with Senior District Information Officer Humayun Kabir in the chair.
Chairman of Chandanpat union parishad Aminur Rahman and Chairman of the School Managing Committee of Ajoddhapur Government Primary School Mostafizur Rahman addressed the rally as special guests.
The Senior District Information Officer narrated tremendous successes achieved by the government in the education, health, women development and empowerment, poverty alleviation, digitisation and in other sectors.
He discussed about maternal and child health care, safe pregnancy and maternity, dowry, child marriage, sanitation, birth registration, breast feeding, vaccination of babies, hygiene of the adolescents, women empowerment and many other issues.
He narrated the epoch-making steps taken by the government through re-launching of community clinics to ensure health services for the rural people, sub-stipends for female students and other programmes for development of women and children.
Heads of the upazila government departments discussed on the services being provided to the common people in various fields to speed up the development process in building a middle income Bangladesh.
The chief guest called for disseminating information on government efforts to ensure development of women in building a middle income nation by 2021 and subsequently a developed country by 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
