Matchmaker murdered in Kushtia
08 November 2015, Nirapad News: Some miscreants strangulated to death a man over previous enmity in Bheramara upazila in Kushtia early Sunday. The deceased was identified as Mantu, 38, a matchmaker (ghatak) by profession and son of late Nabir Uddin of Kuchiamora village in the upazila. Family sources said Mantu had gone out of the house on Saturday and they could not contact him since Saturday evening. Locals spotted his body in a field at Parankhali village on Sunday morning. Being informed police recovered the body of Mantu from the field around 10am and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital. Tajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bheramara Police Station, said the reason behind the killing could not be known yet. Miscreants might have strangulated him to death over previous enmity. Besides, his eyes were gouged out, added the OC, according to UNB.
