Menon for congenial atmosphere for schoolchildren
26 August 2015, Nirapad News: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon on Wednesday underscored the need for ensuring a congenial atmosphere along with independent classrooms for subject-wise learning of schoolchildren.
He made the remarks while speaking at a function marking the laying of foundation stone of a 10-storey academic building of Wills Little Flower School and College at Kakrail in the city.
Menon, also chairman of the governing body of the institution, said the government has taken and implemented many projects for the development of the country’s education sector.
Mentioning that the government has started pre-primary education, he said over one lakh teachers and officials have been recruited in primary and mass education sector in the last six and a half years. “Over 26,000 non-government primary schools were also nationalised.”
The minister also said the government has transformed all books at primary and secondary level into e-books so that everybody can read those online.
Education Engineering Department (EED) chief engineer Dewan Mohammad Hanzala, Wills Little Flower School and College principal Md Abul Hossain and guardian representative of the governing body Zahirul Islam Khan were also present at the program.
