Menon urged Khaleda Zia’s surrender before court
2 March 2015, Nirapad News: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon on Monday said in Parliament that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia should surrender before the court showing respect to the law.
“I would like to ask her (Khaleda) to go to the court, surrender before the court and tell the judges about your problems. I believe, the court will surely grant bail considering the special situation you’re stating,” he said in the parliament.
About the arrest warrant issued against Khaleda Zia, Menon said: “I think the government will surely implement the court’s order and will do whatever necessary. If the government does not do so, people will react negatively.”
Strongly criticising Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain for his role behind the last caretaker government, the Workers’ Party chief alleged that Kamal Hossain as a Constitution expert gave suggestions to the interim government over how to prolong its tenure.
