Mirza Fakhrul placed on 3-day remand
27 January 2015, Nirapad News: BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been placed on a three day remand in a case filed with Paltan Police Station. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh has passed the order on Tuesday.
A Dhaka court has granted three-day remand for torching vehicles and preventing police from discharging their duties.
Earlier on Monday night, Fakhrul was shifted to Dhaka Central Jail from Kashimpur Jail. On January 7 DB police arrested Mirza Fakhrul from Press Club area in the city.
Investigation Officer and also Paltan police station Sub-Inspector Enayet Karim pleaded for a 10-day remand on January 18.
Paltan police station Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdul Malek Hawladar filed the case against 43 named and 20 to 30 unnamed BNP leaders on December 28.
