Mobile network back on Khaleda Zia’s office after 10 days
11 February 2015, Nirapad News: Mobile-phone network of BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office has been restored after 10 days. The office went out of mobile network on Jan 31, when electricity, satellite TV and internet connections to the building were disconnected.
Though the power connection was restored 20 hours later, mobile-phones were not working at the office. BNP leaders were blaming the government for the mobile-phone connection disruption. The network at the house on road number 86 in Gulshan-2 was restored on Tuesday evening.
BNP chief’s Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan, who is staying in the office with Khaleda, told to the press that, “Sometimes we are getting the network. “We heard the mobile-phone network has been restored following complaints from several embassies near the (BNP chief) office. We’re benefiting from that.”
However, he said, internet, land-phone, fax and satellite TV connections still remained disconnected. Khaleda is staying at her office since Jan 3, when police obstructed her from coming out of there. Police obstructions were removed later but the BNP chief did not return to her home.
At her office she is accompanied by the party’s Vice-Chairperson Selima Rahman, Mohila Dal General Secretary Shirin Sultana, her Advisor Abdul Kaiyum, Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan.
