Modi for expediting border fencing; Reviews grievances related to PMJDY
05 November 2015, Nirapad News: Reviewing the progress of fencing on India-Bangladesh border, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked officials to ensure that the work is completed as early as possible.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Chief Secretaries of States bordering Bangladesh to work towards early completion of fencing on the India-Bangladesh border.
Mr. Modi reviewed the progress of the project during the meeting of PRAGATI – the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation of projects in New Delhi yesterday.
Prime Minister also reviewed grievances related to the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (Prime Minister’s People Money Scheme) and directed that awareness campaigns be launched, especially through mobile phones to educate people about the benefits of the programme. On enrollment of Aadhar, Mr. Modi asked all Chief Secretaries to work towards providing benefits through Jan Dhan Accounts and Aadhaar cards so that leakages are reduced.
During the meeting, he sought updates on the progress of infrastructure projects in the highways, railways, power, coal and airport sectors spread over several states.
The Prime Minister reviewed grievances relating to Railways, especially sanitation related issues, and was briefed on steps being taken to ensure cleanliness.
