Modi seeks Asia’s collective for economic growth
20 May 2015, Nirapad News: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called for collective efforts by Asian countries for a faster and inclusive global economic growth.
Addressing the sixth Asia Leadership Conference in South Korean capital Seoul, Modi said India’s growth has rebounded to more than seven per cent and it is a new bright spot of hope not only in Asia but the entire world.
He said these countries must work as Asians to shape the world and reform the global institutions of governance, including the United Nations. He asked the countries to draw upon their shared heritage and youthful energy to pursue a common purpose.
The Prime Minister noted that Asia of rivalries will hold the continent back. He said India’s progress will be Asia’s success story and it will help to make the Asian dream a bigger reality.
On climate change, the Prime Minister said, there is a need to change lifestyles and Asian countries should work together for cleaner technologies.
