Mostafizur for building knowledge-based society
23 May 2015, Nirapad News: Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman today stressed the need for building a knowledge-based society to turn Bangladesh into a middle income country by 2021.
The government has introduced the 18-month training “diploma in education” for teachers to ensure education for all side by side with providing standard education, he said.
The minister was addressing as the chief guest a prize distribution ceremony of Inter-PTI Primary Teacher’s Training Institute (PTI) Cultural Competition in the conference room of Directorate of Primary Education at Mirpur in the city.
Primary and Mass Education Secretary Mesbah-ul Alam, director (administration) of Directorate of Primary Education Md Samsuddin and high officials of the ministry were present on the occasion, among others.
Rahman said there are 55 PTIs in the country. Twelve more PTIs have been established in those districts where there was no PTI to ensure training for all teachers, he added.
