Motorbike registration compulsory by 15 days

17 May 2015, Nirapad News: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque on Sunday categorically said that no motorbike will be allowed to run without registration. The motorcycles, which are not registered, must have the registration by 15 days.

Moreover, drives will be conducted against the bikes without registration, he added.

The police boss made the warning at a press conference held at police headquarters conference room in city in the day.

He said, ‘Drives will be conducted after June 3 against the motorbikes, which have no registration’.

According to him, about 90 percent motorcycles are running without registration.

‘We will not allow any motorcycle to run without registration after June 3,’ he said vehemently.

He further said that if Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) fails to provide registration by next 15 days, then we will check the photocopy of money receipt for registration.

But the IGP could not mention the reasons behind the strict instruction for motorbike registration by 15 days.
