Motorcycle ride-sharing services suspended for two weeks

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has imposed a ban on ride-sharing services on motorcycles for the next two weeks to curb transmission of the coronavirus.

The BRTA imposed the ban on Wednesday following the rise of coronavirus cases in the country.

The government has issued an 18-point directives, including restricting all types of public gatherings, as corona infections continue to rise from March. Public transports have been asked to take passengers keeping half of the seats vacant and follow the hygiene rules.

In addition, instructions have been given to restrict inter-district traffic in high-risk areas and to stop it if necessary.
