Mustafiz climbs 25 spots in ICC bowlers rankings
14 November 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh pace revelation Mustafizur Rahman has moved up 25 places in ICC ranking of ODI bowlers at the end of the series against Zimbabwe.
Mustafizur claimed his third five-wicket haul in only his ninth one-day to help the Tigers to their third whitewash.
He took three wickets in the second match and is now ranked 41st. The 20-year old left-arm paceman now has 26 wickets to his name after debuting against India in June.
Southpaw Arafat Sunny went up 13 steps to his career-best 39th spot, followed by pacer Rubel Hossain.
Shakib Al Hasan (699), who climbed to third after his five-for in the first match, dropped to fourth again after skipping the last two matches.
He is six points behind New Zealand speedstar Trent Boult. Mushfiqur Rahim and Soumya Sarkar jointly lead Bangladesh in the batsmen’s ranking.
Mushfiq leapfrogged Soumya, who sat out the series with an injury, to the 17th spot after hitting a century in the first match.
But the two drew level after Mushfiq made ordinary scores (21 and 28) in the last two matches.
Tamim is at 26th with Shakib at 32nd and Nasir at 39th on the batsmen’s list.
Opener Imrul Kayes has risen 16 places after a fine performance in the last two matches (76 and 73) and returned to the top 100 (98th). Shakib still leads the all-rounders’ list while Nasir Hossain climbed six places to 14th.
