Nasim for stern actions against fake clinics, diagnostic centres
25 April 2016, Nirapad News: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today said stern actions would be taken to root out fake clinics and diagnostic centers to ensure standard health service.
“Fake clinics and diagnostic centers have mushroomed in different places of the country . . .such clinics are realizing excessive fees from patients in the name of services . . .they have no good physicians . . so the ministry would take stern actions against those clinics,” he told the concluding function of the nation-wide campaign “Probin Swasthya Surokkha” (Health Protection for Elderly People) at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity.
He called upon the owners of private hospitals to reduce treatment fee for elderly people.
“Please, reduce fees for different tests at your hospitals . . .if necessary make different tests free of cost for elderly people,” he urged the private hospital owners.
He said the government would make separate counters for elderly people at public hospitals.
Director General of Directorate General of Health Services Professor Deen Mohammad Nurul Haque chaired the function while Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan was also present on the occasion.
