Nasim said this at a views exchange meeting organised by the 14-Party Alliance at Awami League chief’s political office
28 February 2015, Nirapad News: Awami League leader Mohammed Nasim linked Avijit Roy’s murder to the leaked phone conversations of Nagorik Oikya leader Mahmudur Rahman Manna, wherein he was heard talking about- ‘a few deaths’ in Dhaka University.
“In the Manna-Khoka telephone conversations they wanted killings to take place. Avijit became the first victim of the killings they wanted to happen. Unfortunately, they’ve been able to accomplish their first task,” he said. Nasim said this at a views exchange meeting organised by the 14-Party Alliance at Awami League chief’s political office at Dhaka’s Dhanmondi on Friday noon.
While conversing with Khoka, Manna, who is a former DUCSU vice-president, talked about orchestrating ‘a few deaths’ in the Dhaka University to intensify the BNP-led alliance’s political movement.
“The conspiracy which is being hatched to grab power unconstitutionally has been exposed. There is no doubt that fanatic force is involved in Avijit Roy’s murder,” said Nasim, the ruling party alliance’s convener.
He said through such killings they (conspirators) were not only trying to protest 1971 killer, but also trying to foil the trial of war criminals. Nasim demanded immediate arrest of ‘these killers’.
