Nasim urges Khaleda Zia to participate in 2019 polls
13 August 2015, Nirapad News: Central 14-party spokesperson and Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim today called upon BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to participate in the general election of 2019.
“Do not refrain from participating the election. Participate in the 2019 polls. We want to defeat you in the 2019 polls under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Join the polls, take up the challenge. Inshaallah we will become victorious,” he told reporters after paying homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara marking his 40th martyrdom anniversary.
Central leaders and workers of the 14-party alliance also joined him. Later, they joined a milad and doa mahphil on the mausoleum premises.
Mohammad Nasim, also minister for health and family welfare, recalled the ideals and works of Bangabandhu and cleared his party’s stance as well as the government on the current political situation.
“The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina solved the crisis of electricity, curbed militancy, won maritime boundary with India and Myanmar, implemented the land boundary agreement. The country is moving ahead under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. It will turn into a developed and prosperous country by 2021,” he said.
Condemning the observance of ‘fake’ birthday of Begum Khaleda Zia on the Day of National Mounring, the Awami League presidium member said “She observes a festival by cutting cakes on the day when the whole national mourns as its father was assassinated on that day in 1975. The countrymen boycotted her programme with hatred.”
“She (Khaleda Zia) is always busy with conspiracy. But her conspiracy has failed,” he said.
Nasim said the trial of assassination of Bangabandhu was held amid hostilities. The self-confessed killers of Bangabandhu have been executed. Many of the killers still remain fugitive. They will also be brought back to the country for execution of the verdicts.
Among the 14-Party leaders- AL leaders Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Mohammad Faruk Khan, Workers Party general secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, JSD general secretary Sharif Nurul Ambia, Tarikat Federation chairman Syed Nazibul Bashar Maiz Bhandari, Gontantri Party’s Nurul Rahman Selim and Gono Azadi Leagye’s SK Sikder were present on the occasion.
