National Cultural Contest ends call for children to grow up as good citizens
13 March 2016, Nirapad News: Speakers at the award giving ceremony of National Cultural Competition-2015 urged everyone to build fortress at every house so that the children could grow up as good citizens with the spirit of Liberation War, resist militancy and terrorism.
The award giving ceremony was held at the Bangladesh Shishu Academyon on Saturday afternoon. Kendriya Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela organized the programme.
Kendriya Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela President Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury presided over the function while Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique addressed as the Chief Guest with Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra singer Manoranjan Ghoshal, noted actor Dr Enamul Huq and Poet Nasir Ahmed, among others, spoke on the occasion.
In the competition, 2,100 competitors participated in the two-day national cultural competition divided into four groups in eleven categories. Among them, 119 contestants were awarded in the final round as winners.
Paying homage to the martyrs, DU VC urged people to embrace Bangali culture and teach their children with the ideology of Bangabadhu.
Prime Minister’s Media Advisor, also the Daily Observer Editor, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, said, “?in his historic speech on March 7, Bangabandhu called to turn every house into a fortress. Hence we should build fortress at every house to build our children as good citizen with the spirit of the Liberation War.”
