“National Safe Road Day-2015” observed by NISCHA

22 October 2015, Nirapad News: “National Safe Road Day 2015” & 22nd death anniversary of Jahanara Kanchan has been successfully observed across the country today.
The rally arranged by Nirpad Sarak Chai ( NISCHA ) started from the gates of “Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy” to “Central Shaheed Minar”. NISCHA Chairman and renowned actor Mr. Ilias Kanchan was accompanied by Hon’able Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal, who inagurated the program & took part in the rally as Chief Guest. DMP Commissioner Assaduzzaman Mia was also present at the rally as special guest. Closing assembly was held after the rally concluded at Central Shaheed Minar.
Honorable Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan kamal mentioned in his speech, the existing fines accidental, law breaking etc. to be increased and those responsible for road crashes to be tried properly as per the law. “I am pleased to be a part of this movement, I hope “National Safe Road Day” & “Nirapad Sarak Chai” will be successful in reducing the road crashes” he added. He also thanked all of the participants present at the rally and working for this movement.
DMP commissioner Assaduzzaman Mia said, “I was in highway police for a long period.. from my experience, roadside shops, hawkers & bazaars beside the road as well as the condition of roads are the main causes for road crash. I tried my level best to oust these bazaars & shops.” If the shops & hawkers are removed from highway sides, then road crash would decrease greatly.
NISCHA Chairman, Mr. Ilias Kanchan said in his closing speech, he is extremely pleased with the innumerable participation of people from different classes of the society, who showed such discipline and diligence during the rally. He also assured all that combined efforts and social awareness can solve the problem. He specially thanked media persons for their contribution in increasing and spreading social awareness.
