New scale won’t hurt selection grade beneficiaries Muhith

04 November 2015,Nirapad News:The new pay scale will not mean that the selection grade benefits will be revoked for those government employees, who are already enjoying them, the finance minister has assured.

AMA Muhith told this to reporters yesterday after holding meetings with representatives from the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission and the Institution of Diploma Engineers.

Seven out of the 28 departments under the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) received selection grade benefits on July 2. But the upcoming eighth pay scale, without the selection grade and time scale benefits, will be made effective retrospectively from July 1.

When asked about this, Muhith said those who are already enjoying the benefits will continue to do so; their salaries under the new pay scale will be adjusted based on the amount they are drawing after getting the benefits.

He also said that the public servants would start getting the new salaries and relevant arrears from January.
