New Zealand survive Bangladesh attack, win by 3 wickets
Hamilton, Nirapad News : It went down the wire but in the end, New Zealand survived Bangladesh scare as they beat the Asian outfit by 3 wickets in a World Cup Group A match.
After Mahmadullah ton helped Bangladesh put up 288-7, New Zealand lower-middle order stood firm to ensure that they finish the Group league as table toppers. Martin Guptill played a knock of 105, but the Black Caps suffered a batting-order collapse midway, but with Daniel Vettori and Tim Southee standing firm, they had the last laugh.
With this defeat, Bangladesh will play India in the quarter-finals on March 19.

Mahmudullah’s 103 in a 15-run win which eliminated England was the first century by a Bangladesh batsman in a World Cup match. He followed it Friday with his second one-day international century and the highest individual score for his nation in the marquee tournament in the 50-over format.
He came to the crease when Bangladesh was 27-2 in the 10th over and carried his bat for the remainder of the innings, hitting 12 boundaries and three sixes to lift his run tally for the tournament to 344 and his average to 68.8.
