New Zealand XI beats Bangladesh by 3 wickets D/L method
22 December 2016, Nirapad News: Visiting Bangladeshis made a frustrating start in the New Zealand tour after conceding a 3-wicket defeat against NZ XI in the only tour match at Chobham Oval (new), Whangarei in New Zealand on Thursday.
Bat first after winning the toss, the visitors scored 245 for 8 in curtailed 43-over-a-side match with highest fourth partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah scoring 59 runs in 10.5 overs.
NZ XI bowlers Brett Hampton and Shawan Hicks grabbed two wickets each for 44 and 30 runs respectively while Ian McPeake, Henry Shipley and Ajaz Patel took one wicket each.
In reply, New Zealand XI won by three wickets with 8-ball remaining (D/L method).
The home side managed 247 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 41.4 overs with Ben Horne scoring 60 runs off 53 balls, featuring five boundaries.
For Bangladeshis, Shakib Al Hasan bagged three wickets for 41 runs in 7 overs while Mustafizur Rahman picked two wickets for 39 runs in 7 overs and Mahmudullah captured one for 14 runs.
The teams will play 3 One Day Internationls,3 T20s, and 2 test matches in the series.
