Next election to be held in 2019: Nasim
14 October 2015, Nirapad News: Health Minister Mohammad Nasim today said the next general election would be held in the country in specific time maintaining the democratic process.
“No midterm election will be held in the country. The general election would be held in 2019 after ending the five-year tenure of the incumbent government,” he said.
The minister was addressing a district conference of Awami Shwechchhasebak League (ASL) on the premises of central Shaheed Minar in the town as the chief guest. ASL President Advocate Mollah M Abu Kawser BASL inaugurated the conference while Awami League organising secretaries Bahauddin Nasim and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury were present as special guests.
Nasim said the Islamic militants carried out militancy in the country during the tenure of BNP under the patronization of the BNP-Jamaat.
“BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia tried her best to stop the general election on January 05, 2014 through carrying out sabotage, killings and arson attacks, but the people foiled all sorts of mechanism of Khaleda Zia,” he added.
